Title: Three Explosions for Saxophone

Program Notes:

The three movements in this piece are titled “Like They Have In The Movies,” “Slow
Burn,” and “Big Bang.” The first is short and to the point, growing from a small piece of material
into a big cacophony. The second is more of an introspective explosion, drawing its material from a slow undulation that can be heard in the first few moments of the piece. The last movement blazes at terrifying speed and focuses on complex polyrhythms and seemingly endless falling lines. It also synthesizes some of the material from the preceding two movements.
