Title: Unraveling Conversations

Program Notes:

In Unraveling Conversations, each instrument has a four or five measure fragment that belongs to them. The forward momentum of the piece is provided by the juxtaposition of these fragments to form conversations, and on a higher level, the combination of these conversations with sustained chords that rely heavily on the overtone series. Each of the fragments has its own character and reflects, to an extent, perceptions (or caricatures) of the instruments themselves.
